The Kraków and Warsaw-based Unsound Festival presents performances from some of Poland's most innovative sound makers on the final night of their 2026 Lincoln Center residency. This concert is the David Geffen Hall debut of Polish composer, pianist, and singer Hania Rani. Rani, who shifts effortlessly between classical and experimental music, was awarded the European Film Award for Best Composer for her score to Joachim Trier's Academy Award-winning movie Sentimental Value. Opening the performance, Rani will begin with an American premiere as she debuts excerpts from her new piano cycle: Meditations for solo piano, presenting moving, adventurous and elusive works that further illustrate her breathtaking compositional approach. Rani will then follow with Non-Fiction: Piano Concerto in Four Movements, an empathic and moving work for orchestra partially inspired by the story of the young music prodigy Josima Feldschuh, who was forced into the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. Rani explores Feldschuh’s short life through the lens of contemporary Ukraine and Gaza. Non-Fiction will be performed by Rani and the Warsaw-based 45-piece Sinfonia Varsovia with special guests drummer Valentina Magaletti and saxophonist Jack Wyllie.

There will be no late seating during this performance. Patrons arriving after the performance has begun will be admitted during intermission only.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Księżyc will no longer be performing.
